Cool thread to watch.

Anthony

At 5:57 are those new tee boxes ?

No sir. We opened up the area a bit to allow for more sunlight, so now they stand out more. The bulkhead down the length of the hole is brand new, though.

Got ya thanks !!! Thanks Again for the cool thread

Old Marsh is a terrific golf course and Anthony is a terrific superintendent, that's always a great combination.

In that neck of the woods, the South Florida Water Management, The Lake Worth Water Management, the County and the State have a good deal of influence on managing the water.

Lot's of Chiefs to report to.

Anthony,

I look forward to playing Old Marsh this winter, it was always one of my Florida favorites

Very kind words-Thank you. As outlined in the posting here, yes, water and water management were the focal point of our renovation. We do not have the ability to control the water like many golf courses and are left at the mercy of government agencies. They have been easy to work with, understand our reasoning and have been in full support of our renovation.
I think that we will have a VERY special product when completed-one that can handle rains in a timely manor, dry down much faster and move water offer property better. Pete Dye and Chris Lutzke's touch are all over this place, now. Features and characteristics have been returned and I truly believe that it will again be one of the best courses in south Florida. The turfgrass will wow people-the Latitude 36 is the closest thing that I have seen to a "southern bentgrass." Very upright and dense.

That being said, here is Week #24 video.

We had our grand opening on Tuesday and Pete Dye himself hit an opening tee shot and "blessed" the course. The membership is thrilled with our turfgrass selection and the golf course is playing incredible firm and fast. Opening tees shots had 40yds+ of roll.
The following video details each hole from April 4th to Nov 1. From dead turf, to dump trucks of fill, to shaping to grassing and grow in. Enjoy.

Very interesting to see the changes. Good work.  I only played the course once, many years ago but it was difficult. Not sure I like the bunker shapes.

Wow - man is that a lot of work.  The question is why was this necessary -was there something that could have done when it was built originally that would not have made this necessary?

Jerry-
If you read my replay to Doak on page #1, it has all the details.  It was needed and the infrastructure was 30yrs old, also.
