This looks like a phenomenal outing Don. Unfortunately I will be taking Junior on a college tour... :-\

We are trying to solidify our entries and there are a number of folks who signed up at the onset but have not been heard from since. If you are on the basecamp site, and have yet to give me handicap and hometown, please do so ASAP. If you signed on early and are not yet on basecamp, it probably means you have not PM with your email. Please do so now. I have a number of people who have expressed interest and we need to firm up entries. Thx, Don.

Don, thanks for putting this show on. I had really high expectations for Wolf Point and you exceeded them. The event was a blast and I really appreciate Al and Diana letting us golf junkies out on their course. I am sorry I missed you when we left, but our 8some took awhile to finally get back in. I wish I could have stayed and played some more.

All the best.

Thanks for an awesome event, Don. I did not want to leave on Monday even as daylight ran out. Such an amazing place, and the work you, Mike and you crew have done there is truly spectacular. A very special place indeed, even with all the dubious characters around  ;)

Don,  THANKS does not begin to express my appreciation for including me in this event.  You and Mike really did an outstanding job and showed a bunch of "golf nuts" a really good time both with the golf and the FOOD!!  Hope to do it again soon!

For those of you who weren't able to stick around, attached is a small excerpt from the Port Lavaca Sun Times Herald.

An unpressedented tie lead to a shoeless one hole sudden death playoff between the WEST team's Captain Alex Miller, and the EAST team's Co-Honarary Executive Vice Captain Josh Tarble.  A mutually agreed upon 220 yard into the wind par 3.2 from the 8th tee box to the 18th green would be the stage for one the the biggest upsets in recent sports history.  Man vs Man.  East vs West. 2 iron vs. Heaven wood.  The tension in the air was palpable.  The gallery was shocked into silence as both players landed short, just a belly putter's length apart.  What was once a brute test of strength was now turned into a "chipping contest".  Co-Honarary Execute Vice Captain Josh Tarble, a natural crowd pleaser, was first to play and opted to intentionally stop his ball 17 feet left of the pin in order to set up what he refers to as a "more dramatic" victory.  The pressure was on. Alex miller hit what to what would appear to the average spectator as a "great shot" to about 4 feet, however the average spectator would be unaware of the fact that Alex Miller was making 93% of putts between 5 and 12 feet and had not yet converted a 4 footer since Sunday's practice round.  Playing first once again again, Josh Tarble applied the pressure by lagging his 17 footer to just outside the 3 foot mark.  Since Alex miller was, what his caddy referred as, "too close to the hole" another playoff hole seemed inevitable. With the fate of the West team in his hands Alex Miller approached his putt and let it rip.  The gallery erupted as the putt fell dead center.  It was over.  The West team had won the day.

Note:  West team captain is Alex Miller is currently being investigated for his potential illegal use of flip flops to shield his feet from oyster shells located at either end of the walking bridge.

Thanks to Don and Mike for throwing a spectacular event!

You left out the part about Alex and John shotgunning multiple beers in honor of Josh's 30th Bday prior to well described playoff.  Oyster shells hard on those soft Cali feet.

THANK YOU(!) Mike Nuzzo, Don Mahaffey and the owners of Wolf Point for having us out for a couple of days to enjoy their incredibly fun golf course. I ended up getting ridiculously sunburned but I'm still smiling thinking of the golf and the cast of characters that were assembled in Port Lavaca.

Not sure who lost this, but as a logo ball collector, I was extremely grateful to find this near perfect gem off the 3rd fairway.

Hi - Here is a link to photobucket.  I put the photos from last weekend there in a public folder - you should be able to easily access them.  If you want something with higher resolution for print just let me know.
