On these classic courses like Hazeltine the trees have gotten tall. Unless removed they pose another issue. Why do they cut the pins where people putt though shadows late in the day? - it has an adverse effect on the golfer and tv coverage.

The sun is not getting as high in the sky as it was in July & August and sunset is getting earlier each day. That is one reason why the shadows are more noticeable later in the day.
