For me, seeing The Alotian Club debut at 11 Modern has me walking on air.  Let's keep this positive, what makes you happy?

Have not seen rankings, but where is Victoria National is my question? And yes, Alotian at #11 makes me smile.

Victoria National is back in the top 100, forget exactly where.  Our new super has brought the course back. The tree removal even this winter is remarkable.

That all four Bandon courses sit in the Top 20 Modern, and are among the 7 most highly ranked public options on that list.

Other than that, some of the Ross dates and attributions from the Classic list made me chuckle.

Glad to hear. I loved it when I played there in November again. Even with miserable weather it was an awesome day.

Apparently Golfweek raters are just a bunch of Big Azz cartballers.
I get it, you are mad at the world because you are an adult caddie and few people take you seriously.

Excellent spellers usually lack any vision or common sense.

I know plenty of courses that are in the red, and they are killing it.

In a brief look through, I didn't see Gamble Sands. Anyone know if it was in the ratings? Or, did I just miss it?

I am happy to say that Gamble Sands leaped to #43. I'm also thrilled that some new raters got to see Wade Hampton and really, really loved it. From 15 to 10, what a leap!!! I'm at no loss for smiles to see so many exclusive clubs get their due. Golfweek is really coming around. Best list ever!!!

Mid Pines has always been close to my heart. Happy to see it rise to #2 in the state that you can play.

Non-rating related minor point:  The Belvedere GC listing used the correct form of William Watson's name.  Still some work to do on the other Watson courses.

Disclaimer: I am a Golfweek rater.
Second disclaimer: I almost never use my card to "get in" at courses, I pay the fee and rate the course for the love of the game.

Answer to the question: Seeing Sweetens Cove at the top of the Tennessee list. Congrats to Mr. Collins!

Well, I didn't find it there, but I did find it at 48.

For those who are so happy about the position of The Alotian Club on the Modern list, what design attributes of the course would you highlight as particularly exceptional or intriguing?

I haven't played there but am curious what others think.

There were a few things that made me happy on the latest lists:

- Old Town holding strong at 27c
- Yale jumping to 48c
- Yahnundasis at 139c. Fun course with a couple of bad holes.
- All of the Bandon courses in the top 20 modern. Although, I would put them in a slightly different order.
- Wade Hampton at 10m. Best Tom Fazio course I have ever seen.

Courses that I think are under or overrated (in the interest of keeping it positive, you can decide which)

- Oak Hill (East)
- Oak Hill (West)
- Monroe GC
- Congressional (Blue)
- Medinah No. 3
- Mid Pines
- Torrey Pines (South)
- Glens Falls CC
- Muirfield Village
- Streamsong (Blue)
- Dormie Club
- Dove Mountain
- Piedmont Driving Club

Overall, I was pleased with the lists in general until I got to the state by state courses you can play. Two of my least favorite courses I have seen anywhere are way too high. As you might imagine, I would not have ranked them at all. Although, I recognize the limitations of these state by state lists.

Any comments?

Happy to see CC of Waterbury make the second 100 Classic list. Ross was blessed with a great piece of land and delivered as usual. Although Connecticut has only three Ross courses which are all good Waterbury is the standout. Par is 69 and not unlike Wannamoisett the par fours just keep coming at you with the lone par five coming at number nine. Two Willie Park courses Shuttle Meadow CC and New Haven CC both got bumped from the second 100 list. Just a regional observation from a life long New Englander.

It is nice to see Hotchkiss GC, the 9 holer make the Connecticut list, and our own Jim Kennedy is a generous host.

While watching the PGA yesterday I was happy to see Doral in the second hundo. Was the work Hanse had done ever mentioned?
