Whittington Heath Plans

Plans for the new course.  Back 9 is relatively intact but the front 9 is decimated.

2,3,6,8,9,18  all definitely gone and I can't see how 7 would fit in.  11 from new angled tee, 1st new green site?

Wondering why the current 1-4 can't still be played, with the 5 new holes, to form the front 9.   Is the 2nd green (a beauty) too close to the tracks?    Would have thought keeping 2 and 3 would be better than keeping 5 which is a less interesting hole.

Still hard to believe the HS2 has been approved with such little hard evidence of its benefits and the costs so blatantly obvious, epitome of a politician's "vanity project".

If drastic changes have to be made, I think keeping 1, 4, 11-14, 16 & 18 would be the priority holes.  Losing the 18th is a blow, but overall, this is not the end of the world.

Here is a drawing showing the proposed golf course layout plan (small file size) that was submitted for planning - further documents showing the layout and new clubhouse design can be accessed through this link below:
