The story better on GCA than in person. Best to you and Fritz. Hope that this is just not a ploy to take over a budding coffee empire.

Congrats!  Now you're going to have to play every time it snows!

I'm very happy for you and your fiance Ran!

Back to playing in the snow, this brings up one of my fondest golf memories. A group of us used to take a golf weekend at the Garland Lodge in the middle of the Lower Peninsula. On the final day I played in a foursome with two of my very best friends and one of their fiancees. We did this the second weekend of May which is fringe golf time in this part of the state. Comfort varied based on the presence of sunlight but layers and knit caps were required. We had a wonderful time. No one else on the course, great friends, great memories.

Dear Mr. Morrissett,

I have not been on this site very long, and have never met you personally, but I must thank you very much for giving me access to your site and giving me the opportunity to discuss architecture with Mr. Doak himself, as well as access to the wonderful—and extremely shrewd—essays by Mr. Bob Crosby. I feel I have learned a great deal just in the few days I have participated on this site, and it is hardly limited to golf. So thank you very much.

All of which is merely a lead up to this: if you’re ever in Chicago and need a caddie, anytime, please let me know. And if you give me some notice, I can be where you need me. :)

Congratulations and good luck!

Joe
