Great job.   I'm not sure many were aware of Dey's extensive writings prior to your digging..

Well done Joe. A fantastic resource.


I would love to get your take on Dey's tastes in golf architecture. He seems to have written a ton on the topic. His "Waterloos" series is mostly about hard holes in the Philly region. As opposed to the 'best' holes, or would he consider the hardest to be the best? Is it possible to summarize his design preferences?

Tommy, I've read and been told by a personal friend of Dey that he always carried two books in his blazer.  Care to guess the two books?

My Dad was friendly with Joe and he always spoke very highly of him.
 
In terms of architecture, I think Joe's focus on "cost to maintain" may have overridden his penchant for GCA.
 
His alterations at The Creek puzzle me as The Creek didn't appear to have been a club on thin ice, financially.
 
I wonder if he put pen to paper regarding the work at The Creek.
