Ross' directions that are printed on the plans from the Tufts archive (earlier post) seem to suggest that it took some work to make this into a golf hole.

Here is a 1927 aerial of CC of Buffalo which looks likely to be the resource used for the renovation?

Not sure it helps this discussion in any way but, interesting.

Actually, Will, it does. If you find the 6th hole in this photo, there are zero bunkers near the green. There is one bunker way back, in a very odd place, about 120 yards off the tee.
