9:01 on that last one   :-\

...certainly the toughest of the 4 so far...

And the toughest golf hole of those I've posted thus far.   :D

Isn't that last hole the one that Peter P said was practically perfect in every way a few weeks back??

Yes, P2 very much liked that hole.

That is cruel.
Golf history can be quite interesting if you just let your favorite legends go and allow the truth to take you where it will.

That is cruel.

I made it unnecessarily difficult.  The original was better but I improved it.

Nah, on the first Field Club photo that took everybody else 4 minutes to do.

Took me almost 23 and my eyes are on the verge of tears (from strain, not pain, the pic is gorgeous). Gettin' old...

The algorithmic nature of puzzles has always fascinated me. Doesn't make me good at them, however.
Big drivers and hot balls are the product of golf course design that rewards the hit one far then hit one high strategy.  Shinny showed everyone how to take care of this whole technology dilemma. - Pat Brockwell, 6/24/04

I enjoy the puzzles more after I have looked at the photo. It is interesting to think about the perspective and proportions in the context of puzzle pieces.  As golfers we focus on (and even magnify) certain golf related features and possibly overlook other non-golf related features, but the puzzle forces us to see the course in the context of the surrounds.

(12:45 first time on the last one, under 10 on second effort.)

I'm wondering how much more challenging these online puzzles would be if they mimicked a real one more accurately in that the pieces aren't already in the proper orientation!  I'm thinking that wouldn't be that hard to implement, with I guess a quick double-click on a piece (or a click and hold) to rotate the piece if desired.

Agreed Joe,

My dad and I used to do them when I was younger (1000 piece puzzles) and it would take our collective effort a few weeks of working on it off and on.  It would take us a full hour or 2 just to organize the pieces without even connecting any.  ;D

P.S.  My biggest beef with the online ones is... I'm using a smallish laptop and I can't move many of the pieces out of the way very well.
