Jim is one of the very good ones.  I don't really know him, but I have encountered him on the course at Pasatiempo (he was on a bulldozer, restoring a bunker on no. 4), Pacific Dunes (behind the tee at no. 7, I think, a "power spot" on the course), and SFGC (somewhere out there).   I'm only sorry there's not enough available work to give archies like him a fair chance to do their thing.

The audio quality sounded like you keep him in a pit in your basement. Put the dog in the basket.

Dave,

I am interested in the content and have tried listening in two formats. The first off my phone with headphones while sitting in a plane. The second in my car on the drive home. Both are very captive audiences. Both cases were unlistenable. Have you listened to the podcast? It sounds like the problem could be fixed. 

Please, anyone, is it just me?

John, there's a thing called a personal message, out of the public eye. You use it to ask a question NSFW and that way, no one calls you an ass and you probably get a more profound, truer answer to your inquiry.

  I could hear it just fine (on an iMac_ in case John was wondering ::) and enjoyed it very much. I know Jim a little bit and he is unquestionably one of the game's best and least pretentious. He possesses a great mind and set of "dozer" hands. Keep up the great work!

PS....Loved the tidbits about the problems matching grasses!

The audio is fine. I clicked the link on my iPad and it is very clear.


Jim is great and, from what I understand, quite busy with significant projects including a new one at Sankaty Head in Nantucket - one of the most fun courses I have ever played.

I listened again this morning on low volume from an iPad while my wife was asleep in the next room. The audio is fine in this environment. In an exit row at high volume with earbuds not so much. From what I understand there is some expense to increase audio quality for a file this large. I apologize.


The good news is that I found a great interview with Tommy that I didn't know existed. Next time I fly it is on the list!

FTR I could hear Jim speaking all right while in an excavator with the front window open and some basic earplug-type earbuds. 


Great podcasts and looking forward to listening to more.  The new one I listened to today with Josh Lewis was great as well.

Dave , it was a great interview. I have given the link to many members at Marine Drive GC. Jim along with his talented team of Tony Russell and George Waters truly did a wonderful job in bringing back the AV Macan flavour to our club in the work they have done here.
I listened to it on my phone and the audio was fine.
