How about where the 16th green should NOT be?
I dislike the idea of the 16th tee being near the clubhouse for the same reasons as others have mentioned here.
But way far away can be just as bad.
There was a LONG course I used to walk with my friends. We were usually hot and tired by the time we finally got to the most distant point on the course (the 16th tee), and hated the thought that we still had 3 holes to go before our after round beverages. It finished 540 yd par 5, 420 yd par 4 and 600 yd par 5, all in a straight line back to the clubfouse.
