Well, "Least Fake" ryhmes, but what could that mean? Is that ironic? Insightful?  Contrarian? It does, however, makes more sense than "Yeast Bake"...but then again maybe it doesn't.

Cheesecake
I get it, you are mad at the world because you are an adult caddie and few people take you seriously.

Excellent spellers usually lack any vision or common sense.

I know plenty of courses that are in the red, and they are killing it.

Ah, but changing your mind might be a "Mistake"!
Peter

PS - very interesting that JC goes for "Cheesecake" and John K stretches a little for "Beefsteak".

Paul,

Because I don't know what to think of the course and am interested in your opinion.

John,

You aren't the only one....granted I've only seen the course on TV, but I've always wondered what the hoopla was over that course.  But I've been surprised before with courses that looked OK and when I arrived I was pleasantly surprised.

John - rest easy. There is no particular reason either to criticize or praise East Lake. It was first built on the land that it had and later renovated to serve the purpose that it does.. All is as it should be.

Hey John - I played it about 6 years or so ago...part of the 3 or 4 Atlanta courses played during our annual ASGCA conclave. I liked it the best of those we played...old bones on a non modern type site/space. A period clubhouse that wasn't ostentatious. A good golf day and experience. I don't remember all the holes but I do remember the practice range where you hit over a lake/pond...especially as I was hitting next to your brother Ken chatting about golf...and...well...you!!

All good and Kens a nice guy....

Paul,

I think you enjoyed it because we played together, unless it was Peachtree......  As to your pleasant surprises,  Peachtree was one for me, expecting a more or less standard RTJ, but came away liking it a lot, and his early stuff wasn't quite as formulaic.

As to the rhyme in the OP, you have all missed "Rees'd Lake"

Ross Fake.

The great one did not design a single hole on the property but was involved when they rebuilt grass greens in the 1930s if memory serves.

I do not really understand this thread, but thought I would stand up for one of my favorites in golf.

East Lake is awesome and a great place to spend a day.

I liked East Lake quite a bit more than I thought I would.   I expected just long and hard but there is actually a nice balance of holes, some with strategic interest.   The back nine does get a bit back and forth up and down the hill, but there isn't much that isn't sound and a decent amount of holes that are good fun.

Didn't hate.  Lake is the rhymiest word of all time, with liberties of course.

The 6th hole is 225 to an island green. "For goodness sake"
