I guess it seems surprising that this is so surprising. I wouldn't have thought that 10% of the best GB&I has to offer would be priced so low
If you had a treasure of a course that was so good why wouldn't you want to price it accordingly? Wouldn't the value golf selection be more of the domain of the somewhat lesser quality but still good and fun to play courses?
Not saying it's a relevant comparison but I wonder how many of the top 100 u can play courses in US are under $75?
Chris
Without thinking about it I just assumed there would be at least 10 top 100(ish) courses for less than £50. Besides prices going up there have been a spat of new courses which have taken several slots that the cheaper courses may have occupied 20 years ago.
I think there are a few very surprising courses in the US which would come in under $75. The problem is getting the invite.

Portsalon wouldn't make my top 100...not sure it makes any lists either. Its good value for good golf though...and thats what really matters.
Southerness is over the limit. Its a suspect top 100 as well. Sure you are not tinking of Southerndown? That would make my top 100; alas its over the limit. I always thought it was quite pricey.
Using the favourable Euro xchange rate...Donegal comes in under £50 and it is rated top 100.
