Turf sward quality notwithstanding, which is preferable: the sideboards of Chambers Bay, or the turtle-backs of Pinehurst?

Can't we have both?

Same thing with quirks. I love the occasional quirky links hole/feature, but 18 holes of quirk looks contrived to me.
