That's all well in good but as a critic, what does Whitten think of the course?
If this is the only article Whitten has written about CB and the Open, I agree. If he has covered the course itself before, then this was sort of an interesting addendum of assorted facts.
I didn't read it in great detail, but that NYT article a few days ago seemed mostly of the throw-away variety.
