Southern Gailes
« on: September 08, 2003, 12:44:12 AM »
Has anyone played this course? Is it open yet? Is it worth playing if heading to Scotland? I assume it is a private course because I cannot find hardly anything on the internet about it- is it accessible without being sponsored by a member?

Thanks

I believe Southern Gailes to be the new child of Lyle Anderson. It took a number of years to build. I do not know how many owners it went through in the process.

I gather it's to be a sister club to the exclusive Loch Lomond, in which case you'll need to know a member, at least in the early days.  There is a contact point on the Loch Lomomd website:

http://www.lochlomond.com/

You might find something there.

Its the new adopted child of Lyle Anderson because he bought it.
Its a Kyle Phillips course, the same architect that did Kingsbarn.

Joel, it did not seem to have the drama of Kingsbarns from the view of three or four holes I saw.
