Changes the look dramatically.  What else is happening at UMGC?  I haven't seen it in a few years...
I still like Greywalls better.

Jon,

Tree removal behind #3 green and fescue planted.  3 or 4 big evergreens whacked behind #8 green.  All the trees behind #9 green were whacked too.  4 Buckeye trees were whacked to the right of #9 fairway.  Trees behind #7 green whacked.  I'm going to do a full photo tour later in the year.  I'm having an A2 GCA gathering June 27/28th, you should attend.

Ben - thank you for these updates.  I'm looking forward to the rest.  UM is one of my favorite courses.  It's great to see the positive momentum.

A kid who has grown up at my club plays on the UM girls team. We were playing this week and she mentioned they also use a Donald Ross and Pete Dye (I believe) course in addition to the main course. Are these quality courses as well? She seems to really like all three and loves the short game variety

I think she is referring to Radrick = Dye and Barton Hills = Ross.

Ben

Its good to see trees coming out and greens expanded.  Is there anything happening with #4 trees down each side of fairway and the green size?  Just from the pix you showed it looks like this may be the case.

I give up.

Is it the University of Maryland, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Maine, Mississippi, Montana, or Massachussettes?

the big wheel turns by the grace of God.

Steve,

"Every time that wheel turns round, bound to cover just a little more ground''

Sean,

Not that I am aware of on #4.  They want to keep trees to the left of the fairway to prevent people on #3 going down #4.  Also they want to protect the 6th tee from pushed drives off #4 tee.  It is unfortunate for I was under a dwarf or baby evergreen on the left this past Sunday.  The trees look ridiculous.

Mike/Jon,

the gathering

The course is at the other school in Michigan... the one that struggles in athletics...

Nice cart driving in the photos!

It isn't surprising that those who attend(ed) little brother should have a short memory  ;)

That is true, my memory prior to WWII is very cloudy, when 9 of the 10 national championships were won (I'm not counting the '97 co-championship)...  must be all the smoke from the burning couches fogging my memory  ;)

Is that the course also called Radrick Farms - one of Pete Dye earliest designs?
