i don't think this interesting history of the development of the Hollywood Golf Club and the Norwood Field Club has been linked here before. I grew up in the 1950's & 60's around the corner of the by then abandoned 9-hole course adjacent to the Hollywood Hotel, which was the first site of the Hollywood Golf Club. It is also interesting that the Hollywood GC was originally founded by a group of Jewish and Irish fellows.

I'm out of town but when I get back on Sunday I'll post photographs I took of the original Tillinghast design drawings for Norwood.

Also, in Tilly's 1925 advertising brochure he lists Hollywood as a course that he examined and gave recommendations on...

This is one of my favorite golf courses. Fantastic layout, amazing greens, and maybe the best conditioned course I played last year. And the bunkering work is incredible.
