Bermuda is one of my favorite places on the planet, but I cannot imagine buying a house over there given how small and exposed it is to the capricious forces of nature. Bermuda is not so much an island as an atoll, naked and alone in the middle of the Atlantic.
A few years ago, they showed me photos of the damage after the hurricane of (I think) 1991? In truth, it blew over so many trees that the Head Pro and Club Sec. both thought the golf course was improved by opening up the fairways a bit.
I am trying to figure out how anybody could be stupid enough to drive across that causeway from the airport towards Castle Harbour in a hurricane.
I can't think of where the golf course could have salt water rolling over it except maybe #18. Of course, Mangrove Lake might have overflown . . . . gawd, I hope not.
I'll bet that catch-basin on the right side of the 16th fairway was a deep lake . . .
