Robert Bruce Harris signed what is believed to be the first million dollar design contract in history ($1,250,000), in 1955 or 56. His agreement with Carleton Blunt for the Country Club of Florida was $50,000 a year for 25 years.  When he passed away, Mr. Blunt reportedly sent the balance of the fee to his family.
