Caddying at ANGC

Apologies if this has bee posted before but I hadn't seen this. With The Masters around the corner it feels appropriate!

Interesting pics and anecdotes.

And, "most amateurs have a problem with the chip onto the 15th green; they chunk it"...  :)

Some pretty good pix that illustrate the topography of the property better than many I've seen.
Also that second cut really looks like shite ::) ::)
and this caddie gem,
"between living in a hotel, meals, and all the stuff I bought in the pro shop I barely broke even"
There are a lot of people with real jobs that would like to "break even"
that real life thing really sux

As soon as I read that he took out his camera knowing that it was against the rules I quit reading.  He does not deserve either the traffic to his blog or our attention. The link should be deleted.

Gotta give the guy props for his homage to Jack in '86:

Are caddies mandatory for members at ANGC?

I'd tell you, but talking about it is against the rules

Some nice photos from vantage points you don't see on TV.

Many of the bunkers look so blasé.  The MacKenzie bunker on 10 is my favorite.  They've probably tweaked it less than the others and it shows.

Yes, good photos do give me a better sense of the course. Two thoughts: 1) from the members' tees it still seems more than wide enough for anyone, and 2) there are no "trees" like Augusta trees, i.e. unlike those on the courses I play, I'd be happy hitting out of/through them all day long. I'd be surprised if the super hasn't tape-measured the distances between each tree to ensure enough space for at least a half-swing.

"The fairways and greens were always in unbelievable shape along with the bunkers."

Is it just me, or are the course conditions IN THESE PICTURES the worst that you've seen for ANGC?

The caddies play on the last open day of the year when the rye is or should be in the process of burning off.
at Anywhere else in the area that overseeds the rye has long since checked out from heat,Augusta chooses to hang onto it till the bitter end due to no worries about transition of playing surfaces as they then close for the summer
