GCA Chicago dinner
« on: February 12, 2015, 08:09:15 PM »
Hello All,

I hope you and all of your families are well.

It's the time of year for us to get together at the Erie Cafe for drinks and steaks.  My March is pretty open so if we can get a date solidified, I can make the arrangements with the restaurant.

Wishing you all the best,

Steve

If schedule permits, I will be there.

The only March dates that I know are out are 6th - 9th for me.  Will be down in Miami playing at Seminole if all goes according to plan.

Looking forward to meeting all of you.

Shelly is getting a date from a talented friend who has a big project in town this year. I will guarantee a record turnout and a painful bill. Details to follow.

Looking forward to it.  I have not had my yearly chicken vesuvio.

What's the over/under on the number of orders of Calves Liver with Bacon and Onions?

As usual, I'm currently planning to attend but will undoubtedly bail at the last minute for one of the usual last-second reasons.  :)

Or we can just continue to watch guys RSVP for an event without a date.

The date, time and guest speaker will be announced shortly.  You have a month of notice to set affairs in order so that you can attend.  Thanks for your patience.

In defense of Steve, the delay has been caused by my making sure of the availability of our guest.  It will be worth your patience.  Besides, in response to Terry, at my age, a slow tease is about the best you are going to get.

I am happy to announce that the Chicago GCA dinner will be held on Wednesday, March 18 at the Erie Café, our usual gathering spot.  Cocktails at 6:00 p.m. with dinner to follow.  Our special guest will be Jim Urbina who needs no introduction.  Please note that Jim will be in Chicago in connection with a renovation assignment.  If weather causes him to cancel that trip, he will not attend.  Should that unfortunate eventuality occur, we will decide how to proceed.  But for now, lets plan on another great evening of conversation and camaraderie.  Steve Salmen and I will keep everyone posted as the time draws near.  Meanwhile, let us know whether you plan to attend.  The room we have reserved comfortably holds 50, with a shoehorn perhaps a few more.  See everyone then.
