The readers of Shorpy.com are more interested in the car than in the golf course. I suspect that the readers of golfclubatlas.com will have a more balanced view -- and might be able to identify the course and say something intelligent about it:

I would guess Cal Club?

But the clubhouse looks slightly different now:

First instinct was a MacKenzie Cali Course.  My second thought was Woods Hole GC but the scale seems a little too grand.

That looks like it may be Green Hills (formerly Union League).

Dan-

Union League to be time period specific, 18th hole as David figured out as well. I saw this same photo some years ago on EBAY, but there was no name attached for the photographer! If you click on the tag for Helin you will see some other photos taken by him, interesting that they don't have some of his other golf photos. I have another photo taken from the same collection that shows the 18th hole at Meadow Club from late 1927-8 with Robert Hunter of all people!! Guy i dealt with via emails didn't have a lot of info to pass along, he just pulled out some of the auto adverts that had golf courses in the background. Should be more!

Will have to look into finding more of his photos as the Auto and golf were closely connected in the 1920s.

Thanks for posting this!!

The most fabulous photos of car and course are Mackenzie and wife Hilda and their huge roadster on the fairways of Cypress Point.  Maybe someone can post them.
