putting surface perimeter edging

 ??? I have been asked for either a brand name or source for the plastic edging material used as a separator around the green's putting surface area. Can you help?

Bill - In most cases it is refered to as a "moisture barrier" or "liner".  I've had great luck with a 30ml plastic, comes in rolls of various widths but find 18" works well. Name follows function as the barrier serves to prevent the soil outside of the green cavity from pulling moisture out of the sand rootzone.  This can be a real problem when the native soils are more towards the clay types.
  I would not build a sand rootzone green without this moisture barrier being installed around the outer edge of the green cavity. You will find some who are not in favor of such a barrier and there are different construction techniques for creation of the green cavity.

It's a good idea to bury a "tracer wire" around the liner. In the future, others will be able to find the original green perimeter with a metal detector.

Also a blow torching around the interface will recess the plastic just below the finished surface levels.

For clairification, are you asking about a barrier to prevent bermuda encroachment, or as previously mentioned a moisture barrier?

Don, Many thanks for the response  ;D as with the others. For my records, either application is of interest. I am prompted, however, to state that my location precludes the application of cross migration of Bermuda cultivars and more so to the moisture-wicking consideration.

Hi Pete, You are always there and thanks  ;). I agree that the installation of a locater wire is highly advisable for future reference. I wouldn't do without it.

My thanks once again for everyones' attention to this site's postings. It further highlights the extent of those eager to help in any situation.

Vapour barrier:

The best I've seen and we use is the .60mm Eagle Interface, 714-524-8598. very rigid, easy to install and keep vertical.
