So Martin Kaymer is yet again scoring great on this course, Rory makes his first hole-in-one as a Pro and it took -2 to make the cut.

Anyone played the course?

How does it compare to the other green courses in the Middle East?

They certainly like grand clubhouses -

I'm not the biggest fan. IMO Yas Links is head and shoulders above anything else in the region. Rob Hiseman's Royal GC in Bahrain has some really cool bits -- and some great greens, no matter what Ian Poulter thinks. Saadiyat Beach has its moments. Els Club in Dubai is fun. When Tim Lobb finally finishes his Dubai Golf City course it'll be a good addition to the portfolio. Looking forward to seeing the Hanse/Trump course, and will be interested to see what happens with the Tiger/Trump course bearing in mind it's the same site as the collapsed Tiger project of some years ago.

I do like how the fairways are cut to the edges of the bunkers, as opposed to the bunkers being buried in the rough.
