Jay,
Having played it anumber of times. My thoughts.
Pray for a brisk wind.
The caddies are the best. Listen to them.
I agree with Pat. Stay below the hole and target the middle third . Have your caddie determine if you should target the hole location.
It's all there in front of you off the tee . Hole 2 , for example. Draw of the tee , fade to the green . Hole 6, get as close as you can on the left side.Hole 8 ,take one more club. Split fairway on 5 par, favor the left. Pay attention to the breeze on 17. Run it up on 4
Locker room, best in the world. Check out the plaques and there leather bound photo albums on a table . If you have the time, a dark and stormy and a good cigar as you peruse the history of one of the great courses and clubs on the planet.
Staff is exceptional, Bob Ford one of the great guys in golf.Have one of the attendents point out Hogan's locker.
Don't take a dip in the pool , you may not get invited back.
Whatever they have for lunch will be great.
When you leave, thank the Lord for the opportunity.
I've played 78 of the most recent Top 100. If I could be a member at any Course of my choosing , I would choose Seminole. It has a feel, an ambiance that few possess. Course, Iam biased, I watched Hogan hit balls at Seminole when I was 11. My Uncle Ed Wilson was a buddy of Mr. Dunphy.
Enjoy, take it all in. Let us know how your day went.
