This thread is priceless. The guy comes on a Golf Architecture specific website looking for recommendations for shows and when people suggest those that pertain to GCA, he says "never gonna happen". Then never posts again! Charlie deserves his own section in the annual missive.
Ironically it "did happen".
I've seen excellent architectural features on TGC featuring Crenshaw, Coore, Doak, Hanse, and Shackelford.
Ginella stepped in and filled a void TGC was missing-Good for him and a missed opportunity for others.
More than 1300 people care and TGC finally figured it out.
If you think about it, nearly everybody cares about architecture, they just may not realize it(or call it that) when making their selections on where to play-and we may not agree with their choice of "architecture", but the design and the ability to keep their interest is important.
Educating PGA Tour TV watchers on design is the next logical step, taking them form the obvious modern in your face designs of TPC Sawgrass, the beauty of Pebble, the heroic nature of Augusta, down to the subtleties of Riviera or the Raynor features at Old White.
It just takes a little time, a little faith in your fellow golfer, and a little bit of balls
