Brandon,

I notice after finishing as the runner up these past two years you're bringing a new partner with you. Does this guy have a verifiable handicap? ;D ;D ;D

Yes, Brandon  ;D

I have no idea what you guys are talking about...

Sadly, that photo is not an accurate depiction of his new partner. The only thing that I have in common with Dustin Johnson is that we both love someone named Gretzky.

There are several folks on this website who can attest to my mediocre 9.5 index, at least one of whom is in the field.

;D Will there be a Hole in One Pool?

Yes sir! After your wife's ace last year and Doug Siebert making one in 2011 it would seem we really do have to do this. Please ask Ms. Sheila to come back and try again. ;) I know Doug is. ;D

Didn't someone make an ace on the 8th a couple years ago as well?

I'm still surprised we've had 2 or 3 aces in the 5th Major but none have been on the 10th. So many shots that take that front left slope and go for the hole but don't quite do it.

I believe it was Jonathan Cummings who made an albatross at no. 8, but that wasn't during the tournament.

And I agree, someone making one at no.10 is long overdue!

Bump

I've updated the opening post and the participants list.

Also a reminder that deposits are due in a couple of days and while I'm awaiting an email from the club showing who has or hasn't paid if you all wouldn't mind looking over my list and letting me know of any additions or subtractions I need to make I would really appreciate it. Thanks!

Eric, I regret to say I won't be able to make it this year. Please take me off the list, but keep me on the mailing list for 2016!

Driving from Denver Thursday morning and getting to DR around 2, is that enough time to play a few holes and still make the putting contest?

Is there golf on Sunday, for the 5th major?
We've changed the event schedule this year and will play the first matches on Thursday afternoon,
*Updated Opening Post

I know Eric is on the course this Friday afternoon, so I will reference a previous post.

That's right, I was meaning to say do they know what time the Thursday matches will start?

Thanks Lyn - we'll miss you!

What is the trolley situation at Dismal River?

Sam,

A fleet of pull carts / rickshaws / trolleys - whatever you prefer to call them  - are there for your walking pleasure. They are typically staged just before the first tee of the Red Course.

4 WEEKS FROM TODAY, GENTS!!

Are there any other folks on this list who are NOT COMING to the 5th Major? If so, please send a quick email esmith@5thmajor.com letting me know your status. Much appreciated!

Is anyone interested in a Wednesday round in the area (realizing that the term area covers a large footprint)? I land in Denver first thing Wednesday and can be flexible.

Can't do Wednesday but I have a late flight out Sunday, looking to play somewhere.

I, too, have a late flight out of Denver on Sunday evening.  I will most likely play Wild Horse in Gothenburg, NE on Sunday morning.  Any interest?

Wild Horse is quite a backtrack on an already long day.  I prefer Bunker Hill in Brush, Co.

What about Colorado Golf Club... it's a heck of a course and not too far from the airport.

Agreed! I played CGC last month and loved it. I'm planning to go back and play the short course on the afternoon I get into Denver. Can't wait to take on my good friend Mr. Doyle in whatever challenge he throws my way! :D

I played Colorado Golf Club after last years 5th Major and it was awesome.  Coore and Crenshaw built a beauty and the members were very welcoming.  You should not miss it.
