Sand Valley Photo Tour
« on: October 24, 2016, 09:41:18 PM »
I just got back from a trip this weekend to Sand Valley.   The course is still a work-in-progress, but it should be completely finished by spring of next year.   Tee boxes still need to be added to most of the holes on the back nine and the 18th green was out of play due to some bunker work.    But, it's not hard to see this is going to be a great golf destination.   The conditioning is outstanding with even faster and firmer conditions than found at Bandon Dunes.

Pictures are in order of hole and I should have photos on all 18 holes.

There is nothing so simulating as fall golf.  You really captured the essence of the place, Jon.
No actual golf rounds were ruined or delayed, nor golf rules broken, in the taking of any photographs that may be displayed by the above forum user.

Golf in Northern Wisconsin in mid-to-late October is certainly a bonus!

Great photos Jon. Did I see someone holed out for an eagle? Well done if so.

Yes, my friend (who is about a high single digit handicap) first holed out on 11 for eagle, and then had an eagle putt on 12 (a short par 5).  It was the shot of his golf life!

Thanks for posting JW.

Somewhat surprised to see trees casting shadows across greens on a sandy site new-build.

If some of the photos were in black & white and fiddled with, so they were a bit out of focus, then they could be likened to somewhere west of London in the golden age.

Thanks for posting the photo tour. I looked through the front nine. But unfortunately, I didn't have time to check out the back nine this morning, so I stopped after nine.
