« on: May 05, 2005, 02:59:26 PM »

Out and ready for purchase, Brad's Rough Meditations which has been updated for 2005. I highly recommend this book just for Brad's description of play at #14 on the Old Course. A truely hilarious read!

Congrats to Brad, and when you get done with that gardening, come over to my house, I have a few flower beds that need some work! :)

TommyN,

Is that the "new and improved" you on the cover?

When did you start meditating?

Weren't you going to send me a book a while back?

I told you not to trade in your new R-7 driver for those "magic beans" and a rake! ;)

Lou, My bad. I'll get it to you w/ an extra parcel to make up for it.

The reports of my shrinking have been greatly exaggerated. Although as of today, I've lost 79 pounds to date, in just over 8 months. I'm not going to weigh again until next Friday when I leave for NY, so hopefully it will be over 80 pounds by then.

Gerry,
I was showing the R7 to one of my old drag racing friends tonight (actually this morning. I just got back. He likes to talk, and at 2:30am, he decided it was time to go to bed--thankfully! Thus the reason I'm up at this hour) He's a mechanical genius and builds the great majority of the Funny Cars in the country and was completely blown away by the club and its workings. He also exactly guessed the shaft length by just looking at it. The shock of this is, he has never once played golf in his life.

Oh, when lighting strikes (taken this morning about 20 minutes ago.) I set my camera up for time elapse of around 30 seconds, and managed to get this, proving that Negative Ions are attracted to Postive Ions, thus the Electricity running from ground or negative to postive but static ions in the sky. Quite the phenomonon isn't it?!?!  Also quite off-topic! :)

Is it just me....or does Brad look sort of like Carol Burnett in that photo?

Forrest,

I get your reference, but the rake needs to be a mop.   8)

Brad,

What kind of updates are in the book?

Tommy,

Hell of a picture!   Lightning in Southern California....how often does that happen?

I was in SoCal two Augusts ago and it rained (very rare
for August - averages 0.01 inches of rain in Anaheim in August)

25 additional pages, including five new essays in a section called "In Golf as In Life," plus about 5-6 additional pages of my wacky Best & New list. Details will follow on release date, etc. Trade paperback format.

I was thinking "American Gothic."

Brad, according to the Clock Tower website, it was released yesterday.

Scott, We had WWIII going on here last night from about 12:30am to 3:00am. Onefo the biggest problems was of course timing and then holding the camera as still as possible for more then 30 seconds, wiping it off and then starting all over again. This was the best shot I could get.

Dan, American Gothic WAS probably the inspriation, and of course none of us picked that up! (except you!)

BTW, I like the cover. I think it fits the book perfectly.
