Cruden Bay detailed topo map
« on: June 15, 2014, 05:02:22 PM »
During the last week whilst I was going through the large amount of Cruden Bay data I have on my computer, I found a very interesting file from 2006 which I had not yet explored because I was not as good in using AutoCAD Civil 3D in those days. It was a point cloud of the whole Cruden Bay site, which if input in ACC3D can be tuned into a contour map of the site. I decided to do just that and make it available to my friends and colleagues here at Golf Club Atlas to study and play with.

I converted it into a 1 m contour plan which when imported into Sketchup looks like this:

The files can be downloaded from the following links:

I will also start a separate thread asking people to take a stab at doing 18 holes routings for the St Olf course....

Have fun!!

Quite surprised I got no responses on this one so far.

I would LOVE to get the topo maps of other world class courses.....

Haven't been able to get on the site the past few days, these look great! Planning on playing around with them a bit over the next few days.

Thanks for putting these up,
Connor

Thanks for this Frank, I haven't had a chance to play with them yet but I'm sure I will do at some point.

I'd love to get my hands on more topo plans of any courses, let alone world class ones!
