Great stuff Mark.  Thanks.

Is Moor Park the ancestral home of Sir {William?) Temple, one of Jonathan Swift's patrons?  If the same place, Swift lived and worked there for a number of years. The golf course is located at the site of a large late 17th/early 18th century garden.

Bob, There's no mention of Temple in the Wikipedia entry for Moor Park:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Moor_Park_(house)

It's at least 40 years since I last played golf at Moor Park. It was a match between professors at the Royal Academy of Music and Royal College of Music and they drafted in a few students to make up the numbers. I was given a lift back to Rickmansworth Station by Keith Shelley, Dame Janet Baker's husband.

Mark.
