Mason-Dixon is North-South...East-West must be another matter.

I know what the Mason Dixon line is.

The East Team has never quite had enough players who hit every shot straight and solid.

Why should either of those be considered a laudable criterion?

Havnig watched Frank play, I'm not sure if it's laudable. His brand of golf seems exceedingly boring to me. I can probably fill out his scorecard before he even plays. His preposterous consistency means he misses out on all the joy of trying to hit a 40 yard slinging hook out of a muddy lie and under some tree branches.

I am, however, extremely jealous of guys like Frank, Pete Pittock, and Dan Moore, among others - guys who just churn out shot after shot on the same trajectory and make the game look so simple. Jason Jones and I make for a more exciting team, but it's pretty damn hard for us to beat the Pete Pittocks of the world.

At least you and Jones are tough to beat in talking a good game.

Jason,

I may be straight but I'm a very short hitter.  Let's partner up.  Two UK (Kentucky) guys.

George,

Thanks for taking the time to coordinate this year's Midwest Mashie!!!

If you end up needing a "fill in" for Sunday please let me know.  I live in Strongsville and although I cannot be there for Saturday (it is Yom Kippur), would love to see "the gang" on Sunday if at all possible.

Pencil me in. I have family in the NE Ohio area, so I may be able to make this work; just need to make childcare arrangements. Thanks for setting this up!

New to the site, but would be interested in playing. I guess you could add another Ky. boy to the East if you wanted.

Thank you George. Also, can you add fellow GCAer Mike Heisterkamp to the list of those who would like to participate.

Thanks for all your efforts and let me know what else you may need in the meantime.

I'm out.  East will need a new but assured to be better captain.

I get it, you are mad at the world because you are an adult caddie and few people take you seriously.

I know plenty of courses that are in the red, and they are killing it.

I'm interested.  Will depend on my exhaustion level from the BUDA, the prospects of the Dixie Cup and other activities.  If there is room as the time approaches I will likely be there.

Boys, if I make the Varsity East team, I'll be riding. That will help at least one of you secure me as a partner (unless this is a good-will thing where I ride with a member of the Varsity West.

There is another GCA.com event scheduled for the same weekend that I committed to back in February when it was announced.  I did not realize they were both on the same weekend until this past week when I was putting my Fall calendar together.

I guess we can add "Double Booker" to the list of slurs that are so often associated with you. Maybe you should consider a personal assistant so that these sorts of egregious oversights don't happen again. OK governor?

So, should we have some sort of George Cup v. Midwest Mashie game/bet/contest?

Concurrent GCA events would seem to require some such behavior.
