In.  That is if they allow the Irish.

Terry, I know that he may not be too popular in the area, so I'd be reluctantly willing to take one for the team if you need someone to pair with Hizzoner.

I'm holding out for Jane Byrne.

I'll find a suitable foil for our Hizzoner.

Back in the 80s I looped for Daley the Lesser.  He had his father's gold plated irons with RJDs signature engraved upon them.  I am sure virtually every city employee had the same.

In looking for a suitable wisenheimer photo to junk up the Judge's post, I found this fairly interesting bit of Chicago golf history, and intersection of GCA historical material with 'machine politics'.  As always, indictments ensued as the story played out.   ::)  :-\

I don't know if Dan Moore included this one in his excellent series of old Chicagoland golf club aerials some time back>

No actual golf rounds were ruined or delayed, nor golf rules broken, in the taking of any photographs that may be displayed by the above forum user.

I wrote that post after spending some time at Beer Under Glass last night, Terry, so please understand I was joking. :)

Best keep me out of the foursome as I'll likely ask why he never had the balls to see "Hizzoner", which I co-produced:

I think I can see Chick Evans apartment in that aerial!!  I drive by whats left all the time and need to take a photo one of these times and look for old features on the ground near the ice rink and picnic areas.

Or an early round at Ridge CC, located a few miles from the Bev. Known locally as the Tavern With the Nice Backyard, it's a good combo. The Bev-Ridge.

In!!  Though a quickie at Jackson Park wold be fun and even more historic than the 2 prior nominees.

Bring your bowling ball.  I've seen hotel hallways wider than some of the fairways at Ridge.  They keep the greens in great shape, though.  Still bitter about my horrible second nine that kept me out the CDGA Amateur after a great first nine.

I think quickie and Jackson Park are mutually exclusive phrases mid summer, unless of course you're referring to night putting.

Dick Devine was in attendance the night I saw "Hizzoner." Likely as close as you got to Daley if you consider that they both held the same office.

Jud:  Hizzoner was fantastic.  The night I went the theater (Prop) was packed and half the crowd was the sort of bungelow belt Irish that were the voting block of the man himself.  You should be very proud of yourself.  My wife is the theater nerd of the family  but I am not sure if I have seen a better play.

Up for a round at Jackson Park anytime I'm in the city. Love the history of the place, and walking golf is still alive there.
