Owasco CC - Auburn NY

I've never seen this course mentioned on GCA and I was wondering if anyone here has played it?

Rather old club founded in 1901, but in 1930 a nearly complete overhaul of the course was performed by John Van Kleek. This article mentions new holes at 2, 3, 4, 5 6, & 9 and 300 additional yards added for the princely sum of $30k.

A write up of the course, found at The "A" Position, includes a few photos and says that Van Kleek did the work, possibly without Stiles. This article talks about a fire that consumed a barn at Owasco which held the tools of "Stiles and Van Kleek of Boston, golf architects", but that doesn't mean Stiles was there....and didn't they part ways around this time?

It's a 4 hour drive from my digs so I don't think I'll be getting up there any time soon, but it sounds/looks like a nice place for a pleasant round.

p.s. Fagan's article mentions a local story that Walter Hagen may have frequented the course before he was well known, but I'd say it's just as cool that they had a Pro in the 1920s named Johnny Walker.

Played it a few times many years ago - very un-memorable.

I'm with John.  Played it many years ago, and cannot retrieve a single image of the place.   Must admit that it was a time before I had any awareness of architectural legacies.
