I'm designing a Foot Golf course at the moment Steve, it's amazing how far a soccer ball can roll. We hope to be doing Foot Golf in about six weeks time.

I think there was a thread about foot-golf herein a few months ago.

Perhaps futsal-golf would be a more approrpriate combination - futsal uses a smaller, softer (foot)ball.

We've got our Kikuyu as firm and as fast as possible, helps when it's only rained twice in the past 4months.   
 
The design requires the hole location in the right spot, and making sure on the up hill holes the ball doesn't come back to you. Started with an idea of where holes would be but have changed a couple after having kicking the football around.

As an ex center-half I'd think I'll have a pretty good short game, and as an ex goalie, a good long game... punting..

and how do yu dig the holes? with a big sharp edged barrel or cookie cutter?

I'm in Perth, Western Australia. 36 hole municipal course.

I played in goals as well, and like all goalkeepers was a centre forward when given the chance. Digging the holes will be a challenge, the cups are about 55cm wide and 40cm deep, to be located in fairways. We're designing the course at the moment with assistance from the Australian FootGolf federation

We've shown people the concept and had a lot of interest. It will be available at times when golf participation is low, bringing non golf re sand new revenue opportunities to the facility.

Try letting the air pressure down inside the ball, the ball might not run-away on slopes as much if it's a bit softer. Won't go so far either, but then again goalies and centre forwards do like punting it!

  Perth's a little far away from Houston for me at present to check out, but I will definitely make it Down Under in next year or so..

p.s. Maybe if TD's Streamsong course had those Footgolf sized holes, the GOOD players would stop whining about 3 putts!
