At Doral, Hanse employed an approach of pinching fairways at an angle to provide incentive to the player to shape his shot in one direction or another. Here is a hole by hole graphic tour. Holes, 2, 6, 7 and 17 provide the best illustration of what I am talking about although it appears many others employ a similar approach:

If positioned correctly, these features will pose interesting choices between laying up short of the pinch point, shaping the shot as the bunkers suggest, or squeezing in a player's normal shot shape if it is opposite of the direction of the pinch.
I am not sure how well it works for member play. It seems a bit penal. It will be interesting to see how it works out.
