A reflection on the negative imagine golf still has. The game is dependent upon all of us to change this.

The likes of Trump only do damage to that imagine but we've rather been over that.

Fun article!

It's funny... People think of Scotland as being the golf capital of the UK but I think Surrey has a strong case - quantity and quality.

Ask 99% of non-domicile golfers about a weeks golf just outside of London and I'm sure they'd pass on it.

It's really very simple.

A) Because it acts as a barrier to future projects on suitable sights.

B) It's not that the article reflects the game in a negative light. The article simply reports public mood. People don't tend to moan about too much of anything which enjoys a positive image.

I think it matters because one day water will be at a serious premium.  Reputations about private snobbery and wasteful use of water can't bode well if push comes to shove.  I think it would behoove all clubs to make better inroads with the local communities/authorities and what better way to do that than demonstrate the strived for efficienicies?
