Play- nothing great but worth playing. Heck, as much as you love to play sneak over and play the 9 or 11 hole course at sandals but don't stick around the third green/fourth tee too long or you'll be high as a kite from the smoke coming from the village on the hillside. Every time I played there the odor was very strong, somebody was enjoying another lazy caribbean day!

Which beach? If you're planning to stay at Anse Chastanet you won't even think about golf while you're there.

I played it and thought it was a worthwhile use of my time.  I recall the last couple of holes lacking something, but there were a number of holes early in the round and early in the 9 that were a ton of fun and had some nice vistas.

Thanks all.  Pretty strange visit. Torrential rains Christmas eve have knocked out the water supply, closed down the airport for a bit, washed out some roads and supposedly killed 9 people.  Staying at Smuggler's cove which would not be my first choice but had rooms available.  Playing the 18 hole course tomorrow which abuts our property.  The 9 hole course is too far away to be of interest.

Not many us residents here. A lot of canada and England.   Tattoos are more universal than I realized.

Must be 12 years ago, but the one essential thing was to go to the beach by the Hilton Hotel right under one of the two famous Pitons.

There the tropical reef comes right upto the shore and you can snorkel in what feels like the worlds largest acquarium. Enjoy.
Let's make GCA grate again!

I did play one round at St. Lucia Golf and Country Club with rental clubs and enjoyed the experience.  The course will not win any architecture awards but provides plenty of challenge.  The front nine is short and very tight and the back nine is significantly longer with a side on which one could bail out for many of the holes.  Some of the views are fabulous.  This is the 11th:

However, this picture of the par 3 8th more accurately represents the experience:

At $99, I thought the price was quite reasonable for an island golf course.  I would never travel to St. Lucia for the purpose of golf but I would bring my clubs if I travelled there again.

Musta been 10 years ago at least.....really enjoyed this little gem. Great get-a-way from rum, beach, sun, water, etc.
Be careful NOT to arrange a tee time when the tour boats are in dock.....The course has a few hundred rental clubs for the passengers of the tour boats and they all show up at one time. Mayhem follows.

Jason - glad to hear you enjoyed it!  If, by any chance, you have more pictures, I'd love to see them somehow.  When I was there, the only camera we had was a cheap disposable and, with limited shots, I didn't take any pictures of the course itself.

Here are the others I took but you can see why I did not post them:

The second hole doglegs left around some houses with ob left, a stream right and a guy waiting to sell you used golf balls waiting near the stream.  This picture is from the tee of the third looking back:

I think this is the par 3 3rd.  The picture provides a nice perspective on the car path:

I have no idea what hole this is.  The sky looks cool:
