Club centenaries in 2020
« on: December 21, 2013, 12:49:37 PM »
I am slightly involved with Prestbury Golf Club's centenary events in 2020. It would be very helpful to me if I could put together a world-wide list of other golf clubs and courses founded in 1920. Many thanks in advance.

1920 is correct.

But I'm not certain at this point if Alex Findlay did the original nine holes.

Interesting, the greens and their surrounds feel similar to the back nine's as well as Green Pond's, which I believe is fairly untouched Findlay. Who do you think might have been involved?

I'm looking.  But right now I don't know.  It could have been AF but articles I have don't say who it was.

Brook Hollow Golf Club in Dallas, TX was founded in 1920, or so it says on the logo.  The full 18 holes didn't open, however, until 1922.

Douglas,

It was a similar story at Prestbury - founded in 1920 but opened in stages over the next few years.
