I could drive North a ways and play 54 holes at Streamsong for that price.  Thanks Donald

It's worth what people are willing to pay for it.  Given the only times I played Doral in the past were as part of a work related meeting or conference, and prices didn't matter, I'd suspect the same (and more) with all the updates and upgrades.

I played the Blue Monster in July 1998.  Cost $50, cart included.  Thanks to a sudden, fierce rainstorm (that quickly stopped) I had the entire back nine to myself.

Distant memories of playing the course in August 1990 for $90.

My recollection is that as of a couple years ago it was in that range.

Now charging $450!...

The only two that I can think of quickly that charge north of $450 are Pebble and Shadow Creek. What else?

I've got an exclusive private club in Villanova, PA, Tim.  Give me 500 bucks and I'll let you play it.   ;)

I'd wager he drops it by at least $50-100 post WGC Tourney.

Steve-It's funny because I thought the strategy would be in reverse. Start off with a lower rate to garner interest and then increase it after the WGC. That assumes it will be well received by the players and the PGA Tour.

Maybe including caddie but I think the greens fee is at least $100 less. Maybe because of the 2014 Open's and the recent resto work by C&C it has been increased.

For whatever flack the Donald takes...he sure does know how to run a business.

Sure, $450 seems ridiculous, but right now is prime time Miami golf season, at the "NEW" Blue Monster, with the Olympic golf course designer's re-design.   He knows his market.  I'm guessing the tee sheet is pretty full.

Yikes, $450 is a lot.  I enjoyed it the one time I played it a few years ago (think I used Marriott rewards points and just paid a cart fee), but wouldn't venture back and certainly not at that price unless it really impresses during the WGC
