Who Are The Best Golf Tour Operators?
« on: November 06, 2013, 11:50:07 AM »
My friend in Nepal who set up our golf trip there a year ago is coming to the States in January, hoping to meet some golf tour operators who might be interested in arranging a tour for their customers.  As far-fetched as that sounds, Kathmandu is not so hard to get to [thanks to daily flights from Britain, Abu Dhabi and Qatar], and I thought it was a great experience that others should have.

The only person I know in that business is Gordon Dalgleish from Perry Golf, whom I will be sure to contact.  But what other companies do international tours, that might be interested in taking a golf group to Nepal?

Thanks for your suggestions.

Tom,

Here is an interesting operator you may not have heard off... http://www.kalosgolf.com. Besides overseeing Cabot Links doesn't Ben Dewar have an exotic golf tour business?

Aidan.

I am a partner in a golf tour operator business here in the Toronto area. My business partner and I would be happy to learn more about potential opportunities to send people to Nepal...sounds like a cool trip.

I've heard nothing but positive things about Treehouse poster Bart Bradley and his tour company ... but I am sure he can speak for himself

Bryan:

Thank you.  That is very nice of you.  We are a small company and I doubt we could provide enough customers to generate groups for a Nepal trip.  I have a hard enough time convincing people to try England instead of Scotland or Ireland  ;).  I can just imagine.."you don't really want to go to the home of golf, you want to go to Nepal"  ;D

Thanks again,

Bart

Surely with a little creativity there is a market for it.

It's not just a (golf) trip, it's an adventure.

- Golf
- Meditate with the monks
- Climb Mt. Everest

But that's not all, there's more:

- Impress your friends.
- Dazzle your families.
- ...to be filled in.

Maybe an option for an upcoming BUDA, if they will come to NL they will go anywhere?

We used Hidden Links for our Scotland trip two years ago...no complaints.

They have a nice website too.
So I jump ship in Hong Kong....

I am wondering whether golf tour operators are the best market for this.  We use a terrific agency when going somewhere exotic and his clientele would be the group of people who might travel to Nepal.  He does not in any way focus on golf however.

Tom,

A definite go-to person on all things Golf Travel might well be David Baum, publisher of Golf Odyssey and fellow panelist. If it's exotic and different, you would be well served to talk with him.
