The Kingsley Club vs. Crystal Downs - A Matchplay Event

It has been said quite a bit on these pages, but the HHH is a tremendous event and obviously for a great cause.  As for Kingsley as a venue, it is a great place to do it...

Especially if you have the gait and stamina of a thoroughbred, and can traverse Kingsley at the pace of 1:13/round.

Let's just say that Chris and I started on #10 tee at 4:45am. Played #10 with him about 100 yards ahead of me while I was on a one-man search party in the right brush looking for my glow ball drive. From there, we played #11. On #12 tee, we teed off and that was the last I saw of Chris until I stopped for a brief lunch in the clubhouse after my 72nd hole. He just finished 99. Shortly thereafter, we finished at nearly the same time: though for me it was 100 holes while Chris had 126. I'm still feeling the effects of the day. And of those apple strudels.

Not to be presumptuous, but could a non-member from Ohio potentially participate in the HHH at Kingsley?

By the time the event rolls around you will be a member. No issue.

Just pointing out these two pictures to note the tree clearance behind the green, which is to the left of the back tees on 17.  I believe that was on the recommendation of the man writing the checks, and it really opened up a nice view.  Also, that dude in the second picture has a really terrific follow through.  

Josh and others, thanks for a great thread.  I think the general consensus is that these are both great courses that any of us feel privileged to play whenever we get the opportunity.

I'm glad I now have a name to the lore.  We were discussing this with the guys at Kingsley this past summer and our jaws dropped when we heard how many holes you guys played.  126 is super impressive.  I must say they did forget to mention how early you started

In addition to Chris' herculean efforts, Tim Bert caddied for him ALL 126 holes and Chris' wife walked/forecaddied the first 100.  Truly amazing/nuts.

I was solo for the first round and then had the club's staff on the bag for the rest of the hike.
