One question - many of the waste areas "turn" into green side bunkers. What is rule at PV re: grounding one's club; removing loose impediments, etc.? Is there a differentiation for the green side bunkers? Is there any demarcation between "waste" areas and bunkers? There also was a lot of foot traffic through some of the waste areas as the walking paths went right through them in some spots.

David,

I can't recall an area that some might call a waste area, that I didn't play as a bunker.
I'd rather err on the conservative side and not incur a penalty.

Mayday,

I've been saying that for over a dozen years on this site.
Jim Sullivan, in one of his sleep deprived states, defended the benign neglect, but, now that he's awake, bright eyed and bushy tailed, sees the light  ;D

Joe,

I think a winter get-together with you supplying more incredible photos would be a good idea.
Maybe a December or January dinner, limited to "morons" only.

I know that Steve Lapper will be there, even if he has to hop his way to the table.

David, for the GAP Open Championship last year this was what our local rules sheet read...

BUNKERS: All areas of the course that were designed and built as bunkers must be played as bunkers. This will mean that many of these areas will include numerous footprints and tire tracks. No free relief will be available from these areas.

also...

OBSTRUCTIONS: Stones in bunkers are moveable obstructions. Natural cart paths are not obstructions, no free relief.
