Crump Cup 2013 at PV: Sun Sept 29

I don't believe any of the logistics have changed:  gates open to the public at 1 PM.  You park in the Clementon amusement park nearby for 20 bucks a car (fundraiser for some Clementon youth group, IIRC), then a short bus ride to the club entrance.  Show a bit early and support the Boy Scouts as they typically have grills out for burgers and hot dogs.

Perhaps I'll see you there!

P.S.  The current National Weather Service forecast is promising:

Weather Conditions at 08:54 AM EDT on 26 Sep 2013 for Philadelphia, PA.

I know there are some Philly guys on the board that have never seen PV and always say 'yeah, I'll go to the Crump Cup some day'.  Well, make Sunday that some day!  The Iggles participation vs the Mannings isn't until 4:30, so plenty of time to enjoy the tourney.

 8) ??? ::)

Joe is so right , it's a great day for architecture buffs. . Pine Valley pretty much allows spectators to go anywhere that golf is being played , you really get a good feel of the shots the angles etc.  , and its lots of fun .

For any of you first timers , try to get a get a good look at the design  on #6 , #13 and #16, which all use angle so effectively as an architectural feature. Picture how you would attack the tee shot on 6 , realizing if you are a long hitter you must throttle down or risk driving it too far. Perhaps the course will be firm and fast ,  and even those who know the golf course well will be surprised how much different it plays . The second shot to # 4 , particularly for the senior division , is so intriguing, as trajectory is so important if its playing fast.

Don't miss taking a good look at the second hole , as its one of the most interesting greens on the planet. There are probably twenty really tough hole locations , even if you don't count the one they once used in the caddy tournament .  The green is totally rumpled , but the genius in the design is that you can use the folds to slow down even the most pernicious of putts. Gotta run but would love to hear from anyone who attends this Sunday!

If anyone is interested I have the hole-by-hole scores for round 1 for all the competitors (Amateur and Senior).  Feel free to message me and I would be happy to provide.  I tried to copy and paste but it's just too big.
