First I am sorry that I can't figure out how to size the photo correctly
But, this is the 17th hole at my course--Rivermont CC. It is about a 110 foot drop in elevation to a 10,000 sq. ft. green. Tees are 205 (plays 160), 175, 140 and 90 yards.
This is also the "famous" Evil Knievel hole where he did in fact drive a golf cart over the ladies tee. I think Golf Digest reported it years back--my father was in the group and the "legend" became that he tried to "jump" the cart onto the green.
The truth was they were playing and as usual, alcohol was involved in his game. In the cart was his (first) wife Linda and an almost empty bottle of Wild Turkey. The cart path serpentines down from tee to green (think of a mini Lombard Street in San Fran). Anyway, he approaches the first curve coming from 16 green way too fast. In a smart move to avoid flipping the then three-wheeled EZ-GO, he avoids making the sharp turn and instead drives off the end of the forward tee. He and his wife managed to not get thrown out of the cart and no one was hurt.
He could be a pain in the ass but he did come to my second grade "show and tell" day at Vanderlyn Elementary in 1974 and would come watch me play baeball sometimes too--he was good with kids and in 1974 he was pretty cool to eight year olds!
