Mike,

Is TF public or semi-private now?

Manny's, Philmont, LuLu are among many in the area with 2 story locker rooms.

I believe that Merion has a two-story locker room.  I also understand that there is an annual competition between the Downstairs and the Upstairs lockers, which I think is pretty cool.

The two story clubhouse at Isleworth, Tiger's old club in Orlando, could best be described as somewhere between sumptuous and over the top.  Spiral staircase, bar, toys like pool table....

Royal Sydney. Old, sprawling, multi-storey, creaky old wooden staircase, shoe shine bay, hundreds and hundreds of wooden lockers with chicken wire fronts, with many secured by a solitary wooden tee. You'd love it Mayday.

Correct on both accounts.  This Golf Digest article shares a photo of the locker room and a little history of the Upstairs vs. Downstairs competition:

I normally could give a rat's ass about locker rooms, but today as i was stretching ;) at Century , I noticed a second, and maybe even a third fllor, open air barn style-very cool, a bar on the middle level.

great, underrated course as well.
I'd take it over Quaker Ridge any day

I had a locker on the second story at OSU's Scarlet & Grey Club in the 1970s.  I am fairly sure the main locker room was on the first floor.  Mine suited my needs well, and the price was right, $110 for the year, golf included.

I don't recall WF locker room but if it has an open 2 story one then I may have to rethink my view of the course. As for T/F I believe it is still private  I would love to see them turn it into a golf club and remove the trees to reveal a top notch course. I think they could attract Center City golfers

Indian Hill Club, where the Murray brothers caddied, has what I would call a mezzanine level that is as quirky as some of the holes on the course. The old guys play dominoes in the locker room. Only on the first floor, however.

I guess no one is too worried about minimalism in the clubhouse if they're advocating for two story locker rooms.  ::)

Mike,

Yes, it does.

Probably one of the first open two story locker rooms.

It served as the template for Metedeconk's locker room.

Canterbury and Oakmont have two story locker rooms. Canterbury also has an annual upstairs vs downstairs locker room challenge. Great event and an even better trophy.
2016 Highlights:  Streamsong Blue (3/17); Streamsong Red (3/17); Charles River Club (5/16); The Country Club - Brookline (5/17); Myopia Hunt Club (5/17); Fishers Island Club (5/18); Aronomink GC (10/16); Pine Valley GC (10/17); Somerset Hills CC (10/18)

Mike, if you made your way to the back corner of the second floor you would have seen a small reading room with two captain's chairs and a couple of books. The room used to house two twin beds and was known as Lucifer's Lair for members to crash in after a particularly long thursday night/men's day. Regrettably, the beds are now gone...

My locker happens to be right next to it. With the fire escape leading down directly to the first tee, it was pretty prime real estate back in the day - when it belonged to my father.  ;D

I am less impressed.  Towels are very much optional in mine, and it does at times get a bit too much after a wed afternoon shotgun start - 120 old blokes tryhing to shower at once - wrinkled dangly bits in all directions.  Not pretty
