Has anyone watched the HBO documentary Glickman?  It's a great thing to do during a timeout.

I get it all the time on Firefox. When it becomes so prevalent that I can't handle it, I open IE.

This is another example of impatience affecting your lives. Hitting the send button twice is a nonissue. Has anyone asked Ran for a refund?

Not impatient John.  Just wondering if I needed to sign in in a different way.

Back in the day when some posters used dial-up there were guys who would bitch about big pictures because of the load time. Those were some classic fights.

This lack of patience is killing a game that requires it more than any other trait. Everyone wants to play their grail NOW.  Everyone wants to hit NOW. Everyone wants to break 80 NOW. Everyone wants their precious opinions heard NOW. We need to be looking for ways to slow down. To think about what we are saying and doing. This little glitch is a blessing.

You have to wonder about people who obsess with getting OFF the course as soon as possible.

I get it all the time and have e-mailed Ran earlier in the week to let him know it's a bummer.  I hope he gets on it soon.

Some want to stay on the course and play 36 in the time others take to play 17!

That is a myth unless you are talking about two different courses. But then they aren't really golfing, are they.

My invitation to you is still open....matchplay naturally.

(and yes the slow players will be discoraged by the club 2 ball culture, but they are all over other courses and I don't think they are havaing as much fun.)

This SMP software has been nothing but trouble.

First world problem perhaps. But the rest of the first world has internet forums that don't throw random error codes on routine actions using bog-standard browsers. This forum software stinks but one must assume Ran prefers it for some reason having nothing to do with, you know, working properly. It's his forum and he can use broken hosting software if he likes.

Yes, and also under different circumstances, which I can't describe, but as frequently in the midst of trying to post, a message that my login failed: "Session verification failed. Please try logging out and back in again, and then try again."   I accept computer program screw-ups in this early stage of computer/internet/technology and just try to forge ahead.  It's no more than a little frustration and a couple more clicks.  Think where we'd be trying to do this 50 years ago.  Whoops.  Just got the timed-out message trying to post this.

I get this and then of course the preview never worked on this site and Search doesn't seem to work as well as other forums.

I wonder if the issue is that switching to other forum software would mean losing the history of all of the past threads and we certainly don't want that.

These problems have been happening ever since we had the outage a few weeks ago. Whatever happened caused these glitches.

Maybe time to update to SMF 2. Seems to work well on other forums.
