PA Open @ Commonwealth National(Palmer) in Horsham, PA
« on: August 13, 2013, 06:12:04 PM »
My former club is hosting this event:

Former Penn State star T.J. Howe shot a bogey free 4- under- par 67 on Monday to take a 1-stroke lead after the first round of the 97th Pennsylvania Open championship at Commonwealth National Golf Club in Horsham.
Howe, of Osceola, Pa., plays on the Charlotte, N. C.- based eGolf Tour, where he ranks ninth on the money list. He carded all of his birdies on the first eight holes and played par golf the rest of the way.
Three former Pennsylvania Amateur champions — 2013 winner Chris Ault of Yardley, Andrew Mason of Huntingdon Valley, and Chad Bricker of Waynesboro — were tied for second at 68. Seven players, including two-time Pennsylvania Open champion Terry Hertzog of Lititz, were another stroke back at 69.
Ault, who closed with a 67 to win the state amateur crown last month at Saucon Valley near Bethlehem, fashioned an eagle, three birdies and a double bogey on Monday over the 6,999- yard Commonwealth National layout. Mason, who won back-to back state amateurs in 2011 and 2012 before turning pro, sank five birdie putts with two bogeys.
Bricker, the 2006 Pennsylvania Amateur champ, had one of the day’s more interesting rounds with an eagle, six birdies, one bogey and two double bogeys.
The second round will take place Tuesday. The field then will be cut to the low 40 scores and ties for Wednesday’s final round.

Looks like the tournament survived some weather issues...commonplace this year.

Ron - I think every course down here in Philly had weather-related issues this summer.
