There are no other courses I've played as many as 30 times and only a handful of those are even double-digits. In about 20 years of playing golf I've probably played a total of just over 2,500 rounds.
Over 120 rounds a year is a pretty good average...one I hope to attain for my avg annual play.
As Chip said for those that move a fair amount the number of courses will be larger. Since my dad is military and I'm military a new home course comes every few years...that also means the courses are typically public or military courses as an initiation fee every few years isn't in the cards.
York Golf and Tennis Club, York ME - The course is attributed to Donald Ross. It's the place where I really started to play golf and looking back the course has shaped what I enjoy in a course. It opens with a par 3, second has a tee shot to a blind landing area, third has a blind approach up over a hill...the course has quirk.
Del Monte Golf Course - A pretty basic course owned by Pebble Beach Co. It allowed junior golfers to play free 1 hour after twilight. This is probably where my preference of playing in the evening started.
Bayonet and Blackhorse - Worked at these two courses allegedly designed by Gen McClure and played every day before or after work. I worked at the course right as there was talks of selling and renovating the courses.
Eisenhower Golf Club (Blue and Silver) - The Blue Course is a RTJ course and the Silver course is Frank Hummel. I think I payed under $200 a year and my last two years I figure I the cost averaged less than a dollar a round. I probably played the silver course more often. The silver is the shorter, quirkier and less crowded course. I really enjoyed both courses.
The Courses Andrews Air Force Base (East, West, South) - The club is probably the most exclusive club I've belonged to with a number of regular high power players as members. I rarely played the South course (where the president plays) because a cart was required. Condoleezza Rice used to play the first 9 holes on the East course Sunday at around noon. As far as military courses they are better than most but I don't think people on this site would be impressed (although value is pretty good).
Rustic Canyon - Rustic has been discussed recently here and is what brought me to this site.
Rancho Park - Close to where I lived. The course has good bones and some significant history as the site of multiple LA Opens.
The new home course is The Eglin AFB Golf Courses (Eagle and Falcon) - They are in the discussion for the best US military golf course and have a bit of history that may point to Langford and Moreau as the original architect (the course is not as originally routed but uses some of the original holes on the Eagle Course).
Interestingly enough I've been a social member at Pinehurst for over a year but have yet to play a round on #2 but plan to add the courses there to this list in the future.
